Mr. Boone is a SSTM serving as the Technical Director for Force Projection and Maneuver Support for the Military Engineering R&D Area
at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He is responsible for developing, planning,
managing, directing, and proper execution of theoretical, applied, and developmental R&D programs and operational support associated
with the military engineering and transportation communities. These programs include R&D activities in force projection, mobility,
bridge assessment and repair, gap crossing, airfields and pavements, beach crossings among others. His duties include integrating
these activities to solve issues of concern to the Army and DOD. He regularly communicates with Joint Services, Army Futures
Command, acquisition Program Manager Offices, and Army Test and Evaluation Command to prepare systems for rapid fielding.
From 2003-2015 he served as principal investigator and program manager in the Survivability Engineering Branch as a subject
matter expert for fortifications, protective structures, and weapons' effects on structures. He has authored or co-authored
numerous publications in the field of force protection, survivability and protective structures. He holds five US Patents with
one additional Patents Pending.
Mr. Boone is the recipient of numerous awards including the 2019 Meritorious Civilian Service Award, Army Research and Development
(R&D) Achievement Award (2012, 2009, 2005), Bronze Order Of De Fleury Medal, ERDC Award For Outstanding Achievement In Tech
Transfer (2019, 2016), ERDC R&D Award (2017, 2013, 2012, 2008, 2005), Herbert D. Vogel Award – 2012 Engineer, SAME Tudor
Medal Honorable Mention 2006, Achievement Medal for Civilian Service 2011, Commander's Award Civilian Service (2016, 2007),
ERDC Award for Excellence In Operational Support (2013, 2012, 2011), 24th Army Science Conference Best Paper Award,
Mississippi River Commission Certificate of Appreciation for Operation Watershed 2011, Superior Civilian Service Award
(2010, 2004).
He is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Association of the
United States Army, and Army Engineer Association.
